can anyone give me some advice on buying a fish finder? this is the first one ive bought. so i really dont know much about to what to look for in one. im looking to spend 200 - 300. any insight would be great. thanks

senko77 named a good one! I'm just not ready for switch over to color yet. I have an Eagle Fishmark 480 on the front of my boat. IMO, its one of the best gray scale units out there and only $200.

From what I have read on other message boards and around the net the 320 and 480 are the best bang for your buck out there.  I am looking out for a good deal on one.
