And it's funny, I've caught all 3 species in WV and TN, but not my home state, where I've definitely spent most of my time.

Pint sized lakes are a lot of fun and some can be really challenging, my most favorite pint sized lake, La Laborcita:

The water most of the year is so clear you can see the bottom 30 or 40 ft below., I love that place, you want to know why I love it ? if you can catch a few bass there you can catch bass anywhere in the planet.

I like your hat .

I fish small Missouri Conservation lakes that are all over the state. Sometimes I catch up to 100 bass a day with large bass often in the mix . I think a lot of readers dont believe me . I just love fishing those pint sized lakes .

ODFW called, you owe them $47 for looking at Oregon soil while fishing in Washington.

MN, NJ, MI.  I lived in CA for 6 years -- Not too far from The Delta, Clear lake, and Berryessa-- but, shamefully, never fished for bass there and didn't know anything about bass fishing at the time.

No, no, no.    This was a state tourney and I actually sprung for a three day license.  So there.  :P

Agreed. MDC charges me just a little more than what I pay for a year permit in KS while I'm a KS resident, plus I have to buy extra permits for everything while the one permit covers most everything in MO. Lots of free ramps in MO, even on the major reservoirs while I have to buy a year state park permit in KS, and that only gets me into the state park ramps without paying an extra fee. Then after paying that ramp fee, the ramps are junk. One of my favorite lakes I have to be careful not to hit the giant pothole in the middle of the ramp because it's so deep my trailer will scrape, and it's been that way since I started fishing the lake several years ago. Somehow MO lakes produce way more big fish than KS lakes, even though they're right next to each other. I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that KS cares way more about keeping the bucket brigade happy with truckload after truckload of channel cats and thousands of pounds of fish food they dump into the lakes every year, while they bass are left to fend for themselves. Those little MO conservation lakes produce more big bass than our best lakes in the state, while receiving far less pressure because there's probably another lake not far away that also produces well. It's really a constant source of frustration for me knowing what could be if the state just cared enough to make an effort.
