The_Bass_Master99 Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 So I'm looking for a new braided fishing line and I have used Daiwa line and have had multiple problems and I've also used power pro which I've also had problems with. So I need help on deciding a good braided fishing line these were I few I was looking at. •seaguar smackdown/flipping •suffix 832 •p line tcb braid Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 First what problem did you have with the Power Pro? Was it Power Pro Spectra Braid in Moss Green? I really have great results with that line. I use it on several spinning reels as well as a bunch of baitcasters. I have also had good results with Sufix 832 and Spiderwire Stealth Braid, both brands are on baitcasters. Did you use the braid on a spinning reel or baitcaster? If a spinning reel what make, model and size. Also did you have any mono on the spool first. Braid directly tied to the spool can slip and things do not work well. It messes up the way the brakes work as well as the drag. Please give me an answer to these questions so we can figure out what the problem is and help you fix it and pick a good braid for its use, For spinning reels I really like berkley FireLine in either the original or fused ( they are almost the same). It plays nice and if you close the bail by hand and lift a bit up on the rod to tighten the line on the spool, it will not suffer from line twist or cause loose coil issues (birdsnests) 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 It would help if you elaborated on the "problems" you've had. I've you're having an issue with PowerPro, I'm not sure it will be any different with another braid. 1 Quote
Super User MickD Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 Spinning, casting, details of problems? All braids are not the same, and things as simple as pound test can determine success or failure. I'm sure the expertise of this group can help if you give the details. 1 Quote
Super User gulfcaptain Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 I've moved from Power Pro to 832, then to TCB 8. 832 is a great braid, but personally I'm liking the TCB-8 a lot better. Use it on both baitcasting and spinning without any issues. Quote
Oklahoma Mike Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I have tried a lot of different braided lines and have settled onSmackdown. I feel it is head and shoulders above the rest. Quote
RafaelM Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 I've been liking KastKing superpower braid Quote
