It doesn't even seem like its the same season now watching the Vikings.  It seems like they were 4-0 last season, not this season.  Somehow, they are still leading the division.

Thanks for that one. Keeping my Steelers in the hunt. And thanks to the Buffalo Bills for beating Cincy. That helps too.

Man what happened to the Packers? I mean their defense seems terrible but is that the only thing to blame?

i can point out a variety of possible reasons:

-Injured players on the o-line, but even then they need upgrades regardless

-No running game, aside from poor o-line they just dont have any talent at RB. Lacy, when healthy and not overweight, is extremely overrated, at the same time underused in a pass heavy offense. Starks is a decent role player but not a true #1 workhorse RB.

-The secondary is in shambles, Both starting CBs out, and barely average players across the board of those that are healthy enough to play.

-Defense lacks talent overall, Clay Matthews getting old and oft injured as well. Packers have given up like 99 points in the last 2 games, and like 160+ points in the last 4 games.

-In fact, personnel issues all over the team, lack of playmakers and role players. Young guys are forced into action before theyre truely ready, mostly due to injuries, but also because the GM refuses to utilize free agency to his advantage. And i dont mean going out and spending huge money in free agency, but there are some nice value players to be had who can either start or serve roles. The Packers mantra is to draft and develop, but if you dont draft well EVERY year then youre going to see the results on the field.

-Coaching has to be blamed somewhere

Everyone always has to blame the coach for not having the right players to work with.

Head coaches set the standard for teams. When they interview a player who got traded to the NE Patriots they always say the standards are higher than the team they just came from. You are expected to know the plays, know your position and be ready to play. Its those standards that are missing in some teams.

Coaches have to be able to adjust to the personnel available to them. They have to know their players strengths and try to scheme the players into positions theyre comfortable with. For example, it would be foolish for coaches to try to force players more suited for zone coverage into constantly playing man coverage. So even if a team has the right players, if the coaches arent putting them into position to succeed then things dont work out so well. Also, here lately Rodgers has made several remarks that have been skeptical of his coaches. There is a possible rift there somewhere. The public may only see a puff of smoke but not see the raging fire behind the scenes. The packers arent accustomed to losing in recent years, now that they are struggling there may be some finger pointing going on within the locker room.

I'm not quite sure what youre getting at here. are you saying the packers coaches dont have those standards? Belichek has been highly successful in NE, but his way isnt the only way to a SB trophy. Of course a player who gets traded from say, Cleveland, is going to see a huge difference in the standards. But my remark about the packers coaching has more to do with than just the head coach or their standards. They also have had a success with 7 straight years in the playoffs and a SB win along the way, so i'm sure they have some sort of high standards. My remark has to do with the coaching staff as a whole, I dont think their coaches are horrible by any means, what im saying is that sometimes coaches are too stubborn to adjust their schemes when they lose players to injury and dont have suitable backups to properly execute their scheme as its intended to be run. Coaches need to be able to adjust to the players available to them throughout the season. the packers maybe havent done this

The Packers defense is just atrocious right now.  Its never been great but it was at least serviceable in recent years, combined with a great offense and a super bowl MVP translated to a lot of wins.  Rodgers is still having a good season but they have to score 50 points to win.

Rodgers is just average this year..their defense sucks, running game sucks, receivers are average..just not a well put together team..either that or the coaches aren't utilizing players strengths.

Back in the day Dallas fielded some mighty impressive teams, but none of those "franchise teams" ever won 10 in a row.

Hats off to the 2016 Dallas Cowboys!

Yup - and even though Washington played a nice game mostly,  that very short schedule turn around was a factor.

Either way, you gotta beat the teams you play.

The 2016 Dallas Cowboys are Strong & Confident team in all three phases of the game.

This week was the first time I've gotten to watch the Cowboys this year, very impressive. The way the defense attacked and swarmed the ball made me really glad I'm not an NFL quarterback. A very solid offense lead by a QB that appears to be headed for a great career could spell a winning team for a long time to come.

Chiefs vs The Defending World Champions  tomorrow. Should be a great defensive game for two teams without a quarterback!

I don't really think so. The Chiefs have been living in a fantasy land, winning games they had no right to win. I'm going to make the prediction now, they don't win another game this season and end up last in the division. They might, just maybe, beat the lowly Titans in KC, the rest are all games they're very capable of losing.

I almost agree..the raiders are a better team than the chiefs this year, and theres 4 games there that will get very physical.

You were right, I was wrong on that one. I still don't feel like the Chiefs are nearly as good as their record shows and didn't deserve to win this game either, but as a lifelong Chiefs fan, I always enjoy when they beat the Broncos, even more so now that I have a BIL who is a Broncos fan :)

while i feel the same way about the Chiefs, seems like theyre overachievers, theres one thing that people often overlook i believe. and thats Andy Reid, the guy doesnt have a SB ring as a HC, but he is constantly fielding winning competitive teams year after year. I think he is a great coach that doesnt get enough credit.
