I'm in Maryland and am wondering where the best place to launch is. This will be my first time launching this particular boat and so I am looking for someplace safe and not too busy as I don't want to hold anyone up while encountering any mishaps with my launch. Looking at quite a few places along the Susquehanna but definitely want to avoid Northeast as that's pretty busy.

The two best places to launch on the Susquehanna are at Tidings Memorial Park Harve De Grace and Anchor Marine on the North east River.  If you are just looking for a pretty safe place to place to launch and get a feel for the new rig come down to Middle River and launch at Wilson Point Park or Maryland Marina.  You could  also consider launching at Dundee Creek and mess around in the Gunpowder river area.

I was thinking of someplace above the Conowingo Dam.

BTW, I got the Lund you pointed me to today. Looks like I need to extend my fence gate as it was all I could do to get it in my yard.

There are two launches to use up there.  Launch up at Glen Cove Marina or use the launch at Peach Bottom.  Glen Cove has a decent ramp, but is a bit tight to turn around and get lined up. Also there is a pretty steep hill to walk up and down to get from the ramp to the parking lot and back. Glen Cove is where I always used to launch at despite its geography, even with the big 20 footer.  The public launch at Peach Bottom is a bit further away but has a wide open parking lot and decent ramps.

Susquehanna State Park has a pretty tame boat launch that I use often.  Just be REAL careful if you go left out of there, it gets shallow really quick.

Zeeter is asking about a launch above the Conowingo dam.  Zeeter there are about 4 launches but the two on the York side are not worth driving to. The Peach Bottom launch is about as good as it gets. Remember to have a PA license if you fish up towards  the big islands.
