Bass Turd Posted August 16, 2016 Posted August 16, 2016 I had an insert pop out of my Falcon Bucoo Micro Guide casting rod. Is the repair to set it with epoxy? Or do I have to replace the whole guide? Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted August 16, 2016 Super User Posted August 16, 2016 Find a local tackle shop and ask who does custom rod repairs. They will know someone, often the person works there. To replace the entire guide, with labor should cost about $20 give or take a little. No big deal. I have one of those rods and enjoy fishing with it. I throw rattle traps on mine mostly. To repair it you need some special equipment. It is cheaper to get it done. My custom rod builder charges $20 bucks for one and $10 for each extra one. That price depends on what the cost of the guide is. Some guides are inexpensive and some can only be purchased as a set. Quote
Super User S Hovanec Posted August 16, 2016 Super User Posted August 16, 2016 You can glue it back in. It may last a day, a year or never fall out. The proper way is to have the guide replaced. Quote
Super User MickD Posted August 17, 2016 Super User Posted August 17, 2016 You can try to reset it with epoxy, no harm done if it doesn't work. If you need a new guide, and the guide being a micro, you needn't worry about an exact match. They are so small you won't pick up on minor differences. A custom rod maker can fix it pretty easily without costing you a fortune. Biggest problem might be thread color match, but most factory rods are done in black, so. . . piece of cake. Quote

This gentleman is spot on. I got a rod tip replaced for five bucks at my tackle store. Quote
