Will Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 Does anyone know of some peddling kayaks besides Hobie? I don't want a hand controlled trolling motor, because it would require one hand to run it, and I really don't want to paddle. I looked at the Hobie fishing kayaks and they look great, but even the used ones cost over $1,000. Quote
0119 Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Hobie is the only company that makes foot driven yaks. The grand majority of the kayakking world does not take the design serious and I dont think any other company will venture in that direction. Paddling is easy except in heavy winds. Paddling is also much quieter compared to the foot driven systems and its easier to be stealthy. Quote
paparock Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 Try a Cobra Fish & Dive. Yes you will have to paddle so be sure and get a paddle like Bending Branches Stealth. It's feather light carbon for all day paddling and is supposed to be the quietest paddle on the market. I use a paddle leash so I can just drop the paddle and not worry about losing it. A rod leash is also a good item just in case. You can get very close to fish without spooking them with the rig. Quote
