ball_coach_1 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 It always seemed to me that carpet in bass boats could be more a nuisance than asset when on the water - keeping it clean being the biggest problem, hooks in the carpet (older kind), etc....and always thought the skifs in the south (see a bunch in Florida for salt and fresh) had it right. I have noticed models now coming out with removable carpets (button-downs). In my mind, it is just more practical....turn on the hose, quick rinse. If you just LOVE carpet, leave it buttoned on and remove to more easily clean. I noticed some Nitro models on the floor at BassPro Shops - like the idea. Any others have opions? Other brands/models using the removable carpets?? Quote
BillyBob Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 3 words for boats without carpet... 1. Hot 2. Noisy 3. Slippery Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted February 2, 2006 Posted February 2, 2006 call it a jon boat and make it 1. scorching 2. deafening 3. hehehehehe wiiiipe out Even my salt boats (whaler and a steiger craft) have their negatives. Even with a grit mixed into the gelcoat, it still gets slippery. A salty boat gets much dirtier and has a much higher need for washing down the floors,....................know whast I mean? Quote
