CybrSlydr Posted August 15, 2016 Posted August 15, 2016 Brother and I are going to hit up a few more lakes on Monday and all of them have been clear water. What kind of lures do you suggest (color wise)? It's going to be cloudy and in the mid 70s and getting warmer as the day progresses. Do I want to use bright or dull lures? I also believe I've read that for spinners, silver spinners on bright days/clear water and gold for cloudy days/stained water, correct? Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 15, 2016 Global Moderator Posted August 15, 2016 A very basic breakdown for you. Clear water-natural or light colors, silver blades. Dark water-dark or bright colors, gold/copper blades. Clear water, it's tough to beat some version of watermelon or green pumpkin. I'd suggest either a weightless T-rigged or wacky rigged stickworm (Senko). 2 Quote
jr231 Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 When I shore fish, and can't find the fish with the plastics. I do good with a shallow running jerkbait. I like the xrap shallow shad. Floats. Then suspends. A slow reel and a little "pop". It comes to a roll on the pause. I've had success with muddy and clear water with these. And only like 8 bucks. And I fish ohio Quote
