Baitcasting Rod suggestions

Im looking for a decent baitcasting rod that is medium with a fast action.  I dont want a moderate action and ever medium i find is moderate, perferably 7 feet in length.  Any suggestions out there in the 80-100 price range?  Gonna use it for jerkbaits and top water with mono line.

Take a look at the Daiwa Tatula XT Casting Rod. Look at the casting rod, not the crankbait model. The rod is 7', medium power, fast taper. Goes for $ 99.99 at Tackle Warehouse. I like this rod's handle as it fits my hand comfortably. I own several of these in medium heavy and use them as all around rods.

Gander Mountain  has a shimano Compere marked down to 80 dollars . Thats a nice rod for that price .

Sounds like you want an extra fast taper.  That's usually my preference for topwaters & jerkbaits. I will say, I do not like a rod longer than 6-6 for those.  In fact, I prefer my 6-2 Avid AVC62MXF for this.  The also makes for a great sniper style spinnerbait rod.

OP, in that case the 7' MF should be a no brainer.  Great rods at full price.  Why look for a $100 rod at $100 (or even $80 on sale) when you can get a $180 within your budget.  Very nice rods.  I've got 2 and would have more with the sale going on, but financially can't do it right now.

Exactly! I don't understand the reservation. Most like me that either couldn't or wouldn't spent $180 on a single fishing rod have a rare opportunity to buy brand new, lifetime warranty rods at 1/2 price and people avoid them why? 

I picked up 2 myself and fished all day yesterday with them. I caught over 50 lmb and I can say these rods are very nice. Light weight under 5oz and very sensitive. Very very nice rods.

I havent went for one due to the guides being titanium and the weight is actually one ounce more than Im accustomed to with my 7' M/F rods. Plus not sure on the balance of these, I purchased an Elite Tech Bass rod and the balance wasnt very good nor the sensitivity. But the biggest negative the Ti guides. Oh and I have a World Class rod that I got a very good deal on so the Aetos sort of has no luster even at 1/2.

For you fishing with ultra lite rods under 4 ounces and that state " I have a World Class rod" this may not be a deal. But there are a boat load of guys using $20 $30 $40 rods that decide they want to step up. And its usually to a $100 ish rod. This is where I feel many passing up a opportunity to step up to a $180 for their $100 price. 

Just asking what is your issue with the titanium guides? I haven't seen anything overwhelmingly negative posted everywhere. Is there something I need to be watching?

For the record I have 4 Legendary rods.
