Wacky rigging lizards

Has anyone tried wacky rigging lizards and had success? I was going through my excess tackle cabinet and found a 3600 box full of lizards I forgot I bought 2 or 3 years ago. 75% of my bass fishing is done wacky rigging 5" senko-type worms, and thought maybe lizards will work too. Could be a fun experiment if nothing else.

Yes I have fished wacky rigged lizards,it works ok but nowhere as good as a wacky rigged senko.

Gotta hit those bass lateral lines - senko type bait works best followed by Flik Shake Worm then Trick / Finesse Worm.

I guide I fished with on Baccarac a few years ago did it.  I thought he was crazy...until he started catching fish.

Yup! I mentioned it in a post a few years ago, especially
effective during the spawn in my experience.

However, I rarely do it except in the spawn these days 
because of reasons mentioned above. I feel senkos are
so much more effective.

i neko rig lizards with strait tails with the neko weight in the nose of the lizard so it looks like its just bouncing along eating stuff on bottom

Just starting trying to fish with senko worms. Bought the Bass Pro Kit when it was on sale.  By watching Glenn's video's they can be rigged many different ways. I believe the most effective way would be hooking the worm in the middle section (wacky style) to allow for a up and down motion on each end on the fall for a reactionary strike.  Look forward to leaning this type fishing!

I do that as well with the Kicker Fish lizards, they stand up so well on a shaky head and neko rigged. If you run the 8" with a 2/0 straight shank on a C-rig the whole thing rises up off the bottom slowly. 

I've yet to find a bad way to rig a lizard.

I have always felt that any weightless plastic can be wacky rigged and sometimes they want the action of a do nothing worm, sometimes here in Florida, a Lizard wacky rigged actually looks more natural imo as it appears to be sinking and flailing like it just fell out of a tree. I love throwing Lizards after Rain since they wash into ponds and lakes and especially under trees, I like to make a good splash if a chop is on the water and big rain drops are falling into the water, usually it gets slurped within the first few seconds in the water.

when it works it works, when it doesn't, it doesn't, but always worth a try. If a Senko or Trick worm is not working, try a worm with a swimming tail, lizard, creature, or tube etc. Profile matters, so does vibration and lizards have all those little appendages that shake. BPS makes a Floating 8" Lizard that is a hard plastic unlike Elaztach, and will float a worm hook, sometimes it is the best Topwater you can choose. You should know really quick.
