That's not my collection of baits, but it is someones though, and they might have a problem.

Also, because fish will generally be seeing the lure from the bottom would a color like Perch or Pumpkinseed be considered the "light" lure because the bellies are mostly lighter looking? Than maybe a Black Orochi for the dark lure.

If I could reel (yes, the pun IS intended...lol) this conversation back in for a minute or two to answer the above questions that would be great! Thanks guys :D.

They were already answered. 

 

You're probably going to lose it at some point if you have toothy critters in your waters. It's just part of the game. I've probably lost $100 worth of jerkbaits to pike/pickerel this early spring season. I'm gonna lose some more this fall too. It's fishing and you gotta pay to play. Here's a real simple tip - if you aren't okay with losing a bait then don't buy it.

if it is that much of a concern either buy cheaper baits or buy a bite leader or find new places to fish without toothy critters.
