JackKlassen Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I just recently broke my 7' med heavy O. M. E. N. for the second time and decided that I'm done with *** and their crappy quality. I'm now in search of a new rod for jigs and worms and am leaning towards a Loomis e6x 7'1" med heavy xf. Anyone know any better rods for a better price? I would be fishing it with 15-17 lb fluro. Thanks, Jack Quote
S. Sass Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 You know Fenwick Aetos are 1/2 price right now on Fenwick website right? I just got two this week and they are very very nice. For $102.00 at my door with a lifetime warranty. These are awesome if they fish 1/4 of as good as they look. Tomorrow morning they will be tested heavily. 2 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted August 13, 2016 Super User Posted August 13, 2016 ^^^yes, this! Just got one of these too. any of the MH-F or MH-XF models should be great. http://www.fenwickfishing.com/fenwick-freshwater-rods-fenwick-aetos/fenwick-aetos-casting/1365054.html Quote
S. Sass Posted August 13, 2016 Posted August 13, 2016 I actually was wanting a worm rod too and ask Fenwick specifically about this. Quote I am looking for a rod to throw plastic worms for large mouth bass. So I was looking at the MODEL # A741MFC. Would you consider this to be a good rods for this? This is a direct quote from the email response. Quote The A741MFC is really technique specific for that exact application. I may be different than most with the action on my worm rods. If I had two separate manufacturers MH rods I would like the one that had a more Medium feel to it all else being equal. So I am hoping this is the ticket. It is light weighing only 4.48 oz and looks incredible for the price I paid. Might be a option for you. Quote
Super User Catt Posted August 14, 2016 Super User Posted August 14, 2016 iRod Genesis II IRG744C Length: 7' 4", weights: 1/4-3/4 oz, power: medium heavy, action: fast 1 Quote
IgotWood Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 Lew's Custom Speed Stick, Soft Plastic Special! I bought one yesterday, and I love it! Feels great in hand, and handles many different baits, from unweighted worms, to chatters, and jigs. $119 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted August 14, 2016 Super User Posted August 14, 2016 Someone on here recently mentioned this to me in one of my other threads, so I'll pass on the good deal http://www.sportsmansoutfitters.com/daiwa-tatula-freshwater-baitcast-fishing-rods/ Diawa Tatula for $109, I use the 7' 2" Heavy fast for jigs/worms and like it. Very light and sensitive. Quote
JigMaster4 Posted August 14, 2016 Posted August 14, 2016 I would check out the Fenwick Aetos also. Just ordered a 7'2" mh-xf for $100 delivered, will be using it as a jig and occasional worm rod. Quote
