Hi everyone!  I am just getting started with angling and picked up a kayak last week, so trying to learn kayaking and fishing at the same time is proving to be a steep learning curve and that's how I found this site.  I am located near the Chopawamsic which is on Quantico and have fished there a few times (no luck) but I also have the Occoquan and Potomac nearby.  I have a ton to learn (rods, reels, lures, knots, time of day, tides, where bass live) but I'm maybe starting to make some sense of this stuff.  Any tips for someone new who just wants to hook up with some fish is welcome!

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~

Remember that Kayaking, Fishing & Catching are three separate deals.

That last one is the result of getting the hang of the first two -

Good Luck.

Welcome!  This is a great site with lots of information.  I would read all the articles related to beginner level fishing and kayaking.  There are both.  I would also invest in some Senkos.  These consistently catch bass and are a favorite among bass fishermen on days with a tough bite.  This could really help your confidence and allow you to have some fun out there.  Good luck!
