Bassmaster3616 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 When I say tackle I mean hooks, weights, boxes, bags, plastics, hard baits, and everything tackle wise. Wondering how much you guys spend monthly and yearly. I would say I spend anywhere between $25-$50 a month. I use lots of senkos. How much do you guys spend? Quote
Nathan Burton Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I would say I fall into the $50ish a month category. As I am a recreational angler. Quote
Kyhokie Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Very clever bassmaster...or should I say... MRS. KYHOKIE!!! I think this is someone's wife that has infiltrated our secret club, trying to garner information, I'm sure. Lol, this could def be used in a court of law so I plead the fifth. 16 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 I am not sure, nor do I really want to know. 3 Quote
Super User Cgolf Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 100-300 a year depending on what is going on with the family. It has taken me a while, but I really have all the tackle I need. Yearly now I restock what I depleted and add a few new things to try. Can't wait till the kiddo gets out of college, life will get much easier lol. I really need some new spinning reels, I have gotten almost 7 years out of a couple of shakesphere excursions, not sure how much longer then will last, but for mid 20 buck reels they have been rock stars. I do really try to shop sales a lot and my in laws get me fishing gear for Christmas too. Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 I don't like to think about it. 3 Quote
Super User Raul Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 You don't think I'm going to answer that question truthfully do you ? 3 Quote
Airman4754 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Overall it has to be at least $5k. I have at least 60lbs worth of plastics. Glide baits are on the menu this year and they aren't cheap. 1 Quote
timsford Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 As much as i can get away with. I always try to make it sound like an "investment" to the wife, but I'm scared she may be catching on 2 Quote
Frenchman83 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 For me it's probably < $10 per month. As the kids get older my life is consumed with youth sports. Wouldn't change it for the world. 2 Quote
iiTzChunky Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I've been burning through soft baits lately so probably around 30-40$ on plastics and trying new hard baits. Quote
Super User WIGuide Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 It depends on who you ask, I don't think I spend enough but my bank statements say otherwise haha. I try to restock when what I use is on sale. I think I tend to do alright during the summer months, but over the winter when I can't fish I'm always thinking about fishing and browsing tackle websites and whatnot so I end up pulling the trigger more often. Quote
PourMyOwn Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Less than $100 a year-I really only restock line and terminal tackle these days. I may grab a rod and reel using rewards points, or pick up a new jig or worm mold, but that's about it. I'm 39 and could probably get away with never buying another bait for the rest of my life. Jaderose Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I spend what I spend. I...like most.....work very hard for my living. I provide a roof over the head of my family and everything else they need. I've never bought fishing gear when I had other priorities. I have no other hobbies and I don't drink. Even with all that, it's probably still less than $1000 a year. I don't hide anything from my wife because I don't have to....nor would I live a life that would require me to hide anything like that. 3 Quote
RUSS9999 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 About 6,200 the last 3.5 years. But I sold the boat and tackle in 2001 and started over again 3.5 years ago. Add a used boat over 12,000 the last 3.5 years. Quote
KDW96 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 In the last 3years it really hasnt been nothing at all. But..... just this summer, i spent 200.00 dollars. All items were clearance. 5 falcon bucco rods 19.99 each 10 new Suffix 832 6.00 each 25 pack of spinshot hooks 1.00 each Did i NEED it all,no but i aint stupid.;) i pass it on to reletives and they are very happy:) Quote
YakPirate Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 Not enough apparently , cause I ain't catching ***** .. no really , i'm at about $800 annually.. i try to get out 3x a week if possible ... bite is very tough up here right now Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 i like to bargain shop, so it's less than it could be, but probably more than it should be! 1 Quote
BaitMonkey1984 Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I would say I spend $200-300 on tackle exclusively each month. More in the winter. I rarely need anything but I stock up on sales and am always looking for the next hot lure. Despite two boats and a garage of tackle, I still use a handful of lures 99$ of the time- Watermelon creme 5" GYCB seiko, green pumpkin TRD, green pumpkin Crazy Chigger craw, keithech EZ shiner, and a Zoom Old Monster Black Trick Worm. I told the misses this last night and she was beyond angry because when TRDS first came out they were no where to be found, she was on a business trip and there was a BPS so I had her clean out the TRDs, every color. She is wondering why I "needed" all those colors. I told her same reason she "needs" all her different pairs of shoes. Conversation over. 1 Quote
GORDO Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 At least $150/month on gas and replacing lures. I lose a lot of crankbaits to musky and pike sadly. Good thing Im not married or have kids so I can spend as much money on fishing, traveling, and beer as I want! Quote
YoTone Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 since the start of the year its been over $1K in lures and line. i like them pretty lures too much. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted August 11, 2016 Super User Posted August 11, 2016 I'm fairly certain that in the past 12 months or so I've set a new Personal Best in the cash out area. One that I will not be eclipsing any time soon. A-Jay 2 Quote
