I was thinking of hosting a MLF style fishing tournament and was wanting to know if anyone on here has hosted one, or participated in one and what were your thoughts on it.

I would be using the Scoretrackerlive app.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

We do kind of our own version for our little weeknight tournaments. Everyone has to buy the same scale and we catch, weigh, release immediately. It's a group of guys off the forum from the KC area and we all know each other so it runs off the honor system (not much money in it anyways). We do biggest 5 and big bass though and "weigh in", is at the end of the night. So it's a bit like MLF, a bit like a regular tournament. it works well though and is a good time.

Follow along and comment here so everyone that fishes them can get to know you a bit. Not about the tournaments because that isn't a topic that is allowed here, but just post some reports and get in on the conversation when you can.

Like I said, it runs off trust and the honor system and the only way to really trust someone is to know them. Our season is winding down for this year but we'll start it back up in late March or April next year. We have a roster that you have to be on at the beginning of the season because we fish small lakes and had to find a way to put a cap on how many boats we had showing up (we had 12 boats on less than 200 acre lakes a few times, plus all the bank fishermen and other boats out fun fishing, it was a zoo).

This summer I ended up somewhat accidentally fishing a tournament on a 53 acre lake with 16 boats. The "lake" has a 12-16" protected slot limit. One fish was weighed over the slot, and that boat won the tournament. I was in a 3 way tie for second with five fish for 3lbs 2oz. Not all fish in the south are big :hammerblows:
