So, my wife and I are celebrating 8 years today. I'm very new to fishing (about a month) and she got me the following lures (pictured) as a gift. 8 years is bronze, so you'll see a bronze colored theme!

Can anyone tell me anything about these lures? In my reading and learning, I've seen "spook," and Rapala's "scatter rap." I've enjoyed great success using crank baits, spinner baits, and grubs, but that's about all I've used as I'm building my tackle kit. Thanks!

Congrats on the eight years. I caught my personal best on that same color Super Spook JR. It draws some violent strikes, so you have to wait until the fish has it or you'll jerk it out of it's mouth. Good luck with them.

Walking a spook early in the morning helped hook me on bass fishing. The big fish jigs have caught me keeps me coming back. Enjoy learning how to use them, that's one of the most fun aspects of fishing.

The scatter rap is frowned upon by some people.  I think durability issues. Or the fact that you can't "burn" it on the retrieve because it will do circles. I personally love the scatter rap. Especially in the shallow crank and shad style . Caught multiple 4 lbers on the scatter rap this summer alone.
