Thanks for all the responses so far! Not so sure this is correct. Black is the absorption of all light, but you only need reflection of light to see a color. Black is one of the highest contrast colors there are and stands out very well in all shades of water. In fact most all colors turn to a shade of gray/black after several feet in the water column. craww Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I just run the line over a spike it marker as it fades. Never understood caring enough about line visibilty to run a sharpie over the line but not caring about the strong smell off a sharpie potentially giving negative cues to fish. Quote
