RafaelM Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I just started using jigs a while ago and I've had great success with them. I'm currently using and only have used a zoom super chunk. I'm interested in knowing what everyone uses as their trailers. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 6, 2016 Global Moderator Posted August 6, 2016 My favorite is the one the fish are eating that day. I carry a ton of different types for different situations, which one I use depends on the conditions and the fish's mood. Some of my favorites are; Rage Craw, Christie Craw, twin tail grub, Menace, Big Critter Craw, Uncle Josh pork frog, Senko, Zman BatwingZ or Turbo CrawZ, there really are no limits. Only thing I ever put on a jig that didn't really work that I thought would work was a tube. 3 Quote
rangerjockey Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Like Bluebasser I use a bunch. But if I had to choose just one,for where I fish it would be a speedcraw. 1 Quote
Super User Chris at Tech Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 I'm nowhere near the jig expert that some others on this board are but I made a conscious effort to not overwhelm myself with the all the options for jig and trailer colors. My jigs are green pumpkin, brown and black/blue, and I fish them with matching Rage Craws. About the only change I'll regularly make is downsizing to the smaller Rage Craw when fishing in lakes dominated by spotted bass. The options are certainly endless, but my tackle bag is already heavy enough 2 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 rage craw, baby rage craw, rage menace, missile baby d bomb and my favorite is damiki air craw 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 I use everything and just dont seem much difference . I caught a nice bass the other night using a purple jelly worm as a trailer . It looks like the jig and eel that the old timers remember . 3 Quote
S. Sass Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Pit boss, & Paca craw, are my more go to baits. But everything Bluebasser86 mentioned and anything else I have with me that might work could end up on a hook. 1 Quote
Super User Senko lover Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 Rage Craw hands down. 1 Quote
BiteFiend Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Rage Craw and Rage Chunk in warmer water and Berkley Chigger Craw in colder water. Also, a local tackle chop makes great chunk style jig trailers that I like in colder water as well. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 Custom pork rinds, 80% of the time. (black, barn red, purple). GYCB twin tail grubs, 4" & 5", 10% (221, 387) Berkley Chigger Craws, 3" & 4", 10% (green pumpkin black flake) I don't try lots of different jig trailers and tend to stay with what works for me. TyF Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I keep it simple as well. I use a rage craw or babe rage craw (depending on size of jig) if the fish are really active (summer mostly) and a baby paca craw whenever they aren't. I like the paca craw more and will throw it 90% of the time even if the fish are really active because of the hollow body. The hollow body allows you to get the trailer perfectly straight without worrying about getting the hook perfectly centered in the body of the plastic the whole time. All you need to do is get it centered for the first 1/4 inch then you can adjust as needed. 1 Quote
Super User whitwolf Posted August 7, 2016 Super User Posted August 7, 2016 R.I. smallie beaver and a Zoom super chunk jr. On a rare occasion I fish a jig with a Danny Joe Humphry's original floating worm. 1 Quote

I also have some 4in. zoom cross craws. I don't know if they make them anymore but they are good trailers. 1 Quote
Jon G Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Rage Craws, R.I Beaver, Pit Boss (best producing bait/trailer this year), Chigger Craws, DT Grubs, Chunks, and so much more 1 Quote
aceman387 Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 The best for me this summer has been the Z - man TRD in green pumpkin. 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 Rage Menace for me. Rig it flat for a craw profile or vertical on a swim jig. Quote
