jtharris3 Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 I picked up a package of Zoom 8" Lizards, I'm thinking I should go with a 5/0 EWG for this bait. What say you? Quote
Airman4754 Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Even up to the 10" ones they are pretty thin. Anything 3/0 and up in the EWG world should work. 1 Quote

Super User scaleface Posted August 6, 2016 Super User Posted August 6, 2016 As long as the gape is twice the size of the thickness of the bait it will work .Bigger hooks are ok but I dont go much bigger . I dont even know what size I'm using half the time , I just measure them up then tie it on . 1 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted August 7, 2016 Posted August 7, 2016 I started cutting a small hook slot in my thicker soft plastics like some swimbaits. It has increased my hook up % and baits seem to last a little longer. Quote
jtharris3 Posted August 12, 2016 Author Posted August 12, 2016 I fished this bait for a couple of days last weekend. I ended up settling on a 4/0 EWG Gammy. The 5/0 looked like a beast on it and the 3/0 just looked a tad small to me. The 4/0 seemed to hit the sweet spot with this particular bait. Quote
