Bassattackr Posted December 19, 2005 Posted December 19, 2005 We'll get ya set up there george The merc starts up every time no probs, but lately it hasn't been wanting to idle at low rpms, believe the carb has become a bit clogged, will take into the shop for spring tune up and go from there.. basspro48 Posted December 21, 2005 Posted December 21, 2005 After looking at all yall's boats all I can say is wow... :o...yall have the boats I have been dreaming of for a long time, kinda makes me ashamed of my beat-up little 14ft. moss-green jon boat with a 10 year old motorguide on it... :-[ I still love my jonny boat, I just wish I could have a big'ole Triton with a roaring Merc on the back... Ben Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Yea, but you can fish for a year for what I burn on a weekend for gas. These big boats do have their drawbacks too. You also don't need a gas guzzling, full size pickup to haul your's back and forth to the lake. You can slide your's into any pond or lake around. Can't slide these big boats anywhere there's not a boat ramp. So, even if you got one of these big, shiney, fast bass boats, you would still have to keep your old jon, and find you find you would still use it more than the big boat. (after the new wore off the big boat and you got tired of spending so much on gas and oil) Don't start knocking those old jons, I'm still very partial to mine. Over the years, that old tin can's probably haul in more fish than all my bass boats combined. Quote
stratoscaster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 Let's see if I can make this work. I bought this boat off of Ebay sight unseen. I've been very pleased so far. Quote
stratoscaster Posted December 22, 2005 Posted December 22, 2005 That was so easy I'll do another. Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted December 31, 2005 Super User Posted December 31, 2005 Sweet rig Bixbybass. And the Opti 225- I don't know about yours, mine is good on gas, but loves to drink that Merc Optimax 2-stroke oil. But hey, that grimace on your face when buying the stuff quickly turns into a when you drop the hammer. Good fishin' to you from a Ranger owner. JB Quote
bixbybasspro Posted December 31, 2005 Posted December 31, 2005 Hey J.Bricker, thanks alot for the comment. Your Ranger is a sweet lookin' ride as well. I love the way the Opti holds onto the gas compared to the EFI. Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted January 2, 2006 Super User Posted January 2, 2006 Delaware- Must be nice to be able go anywhere and fish for anything. Nice rig. Quote
Delakid Posted January 3, 2006 Posted January 3, 2006 Thanks J.............I looked at every boat on the post and was suprised at how resourceful and creative guys are on here to restore and add features to their rigs. For example, the 1964 restored boat on the first page. Spring is next ! I got the fever real bad this year. Kid Quote
