Derekbass02 Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 I caught this trout from shore on lake superior and I don't know what it is. I think it's a brook trout but I'm not sure. Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 4, 2016 Super User Posted August 4, 2016 I think it's a young lake trout. 1 Quote
GORDO Posted August 4, 2016 Posted August 4, 2016 i thought it was a small salmon until I saw how big it was in your hands. Its definitely a young lake trout, if it was a brook it would have red spots and the tail wouldnt be as forked. it honestly looks like a brook/lake trout hybrid lol i didnt know that existed but apparently it does. Derekbass02 Posted August 4, 2016 Author Posted August 4, 2016 I was only 12 when this picture was taken so the fish is smaller then it might look. LOL Quote
Super User Scott F Posted August 4, 2016 Super User Posted August 4, 2016 It could be a splake, which is a lake trout / brook trout hybrid. Here is a graphic of a splake Quote
Super User J Francho Posted August 4, 2016 Super User Posted August 4, 2016 Hard to tell when they're that young. They all look very similar. 1 Quote
