Luna2406 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Paddling back in from a evening of fishing and decided to hit the last stump on the way in. I cast my little wacky rigged worm and watched as the line sunk. I felt a very very slight tap, reeled down to the fish and set the hook like I've done hundreds of times...Bam! Fish on! I watched as my line ran to the right but didnt notice that the line was rising, if i would have noticed i would have tried to keep the fish from jumping. I see the fish jump and everything goes into slow motion...I have, to this day never seen a bass so big, it was easily 7 or 8 lbs. I'm pretty sure it flipped me off with his fin as he went back into the water. To add salt to the wound he threw my worm right back at me and it hit me in the head...this bass has made it personal now. I'll be going back to try and see if I can even up the score...definitely a fish of a lifetime. Like I told my wife, its fish like that, that keep us going back day after day. I haven't had a fish spit my hook in weeks...it would be this ONE to do it haha 1 Quote

Super User Darren. Posted July 30, 2016 Super User Posted July 30, 2016 Happened to me at Harwood's Mill a few times. One was when my youngest son was in the front of my kayak holding out the net while a huge bass, likely a PB, tail danced, spit my worm back at us and laughed all the way to the bottom. I think the same fish broke me off a year earlier in the same place.... Had my number. Quote

The cove area holds many a beast that has evaded my capture. 1 Quote
