Super User Team9nine Posted July 30, 2016 Super User Posted July 30, 2016 Nope - Only chance of that ever happening would be if you spooled with straight braid or superline, and even then, the line wouldn't pull on the knot until it completely unwound/slipped from the spool. Outlaw86 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Generally the knot tying the line to the spool doesn't come under stress until all of your line is out, so unless whatever is on the other end has 'spooled' you, you should be safe. Quote

So i can tie a bad knot I was watching tacklejunky81 and he said some people have just put the line through the wiffle of the spool and not tie it i would never do that Quote

There's really no need to tie the line to the spool as I've never had a bass 'spool' me and I've never heard or read of it happening. They just don't make long runs that you need to concern yourself with running out of line. Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted July 30, 2016 Super User Posted July 30, 2016 Back up, if you are asking if that knot is best for attaching your line to the spool on your reel. then yes it is a good knot for that purpose. It is the only time I use that knot. Make sure you get it tied correctly and it is tight because if not your line will slip on the spool and it will act like your drag is not working. We get a lot of those complaints like "I just bought a new reel and it does not work" You will need to know several other knots like the double uni knot to tie two lines together ,the palomar and trilene knots are good knots for tying on lures etc. I hope I ansered your question you left it kinda vague.
