I found these soft plastic turtle baits from Doomsday tackle co. I've never seen any other turtle baits anywhere. I was curious to see if any of you guys used them and what you thought of them. I was also curious the best way to rig them. I'm thinking a little jighead. Thanks for any help!

Never heard of them, but you've got me interested now. I might have to order some of these on eBay.

My buddy was always asking me where he could buy those turtles that the Kayak Guy uses, and he claims turtles are like Lizards to bass. I found a few packs of Turtles at a local shop so I grabbed them and when I gave them to my buddy, I reached into my saltwater box in my trunk and grabbed some Exude Crabs and rigged them like I would for Inshore Fishing.

I caught more fish on the Crabs than the turtles on a Mojo Style rig, but once I put a Lizard on I did better than both the crab and Turtle. The Turtle is a good deal at .99 a pack imo, they seem to be a bait that works only at certain times of the year and in areas with turtles-Wood.

I gave my buddy 3 packs, and I have not seen them again, I just think it is another creature bait and will work if in the right hands, right place, right time etc...but I would be more confident in a Strike King Rage Bug than a Turtle any day, or any beaver style bait...

Just my opinion. I know Rage Bugs, Rodents, Beavers, creatures all work year round, Turtles only stay small for a short amount of time and only stay in small areas from what I have seen growing up and catching them.,

Man, I wish I could find them that cheap! I did a quick eBay search and the cheapest I found was $10 for a 6 pack. There are turtles all over the place on most of the lakes I fish. I bet I could do some real damage with those.

I think Chad Hoover had something to do with the designing of the bait not sure but I do know he was always talking about those little turtle baits back say 2011,2012 seemed like a cool concept back then they didn't do to well I guess and I never did pick up a pack.

If I could find them cheap enough I'd pick up a couple packs. I'm a sucker for cool and unique looking baits. Some I buy just to look at and hang up in my basement.

I know bass will eat them, but I've seen several occasions of bass following tiny turtles and then turning away, or sucking them in and then blowing them back out. They either seem to not enjoy the taste much, or maybe the idea of swallowing (and passing ), that shell is a turn off to them.

I dunno how similar they are, but I tried the Bombshell Turtle a few years ago, but never got a bite on one. They've been in my 'sell on ebay' box since.

Be aware snakes go after turtles. Be careful.

Snakes go after anything. Water snakes are really aggressive and strike at any movement. I have had them aggressively pursue a hollow body frog, strike at various baits that I cast too close to their limb/log/rock they were laying on, and I even caught one on a wacky rig senko that landed on the bank this spring. He stuck as soon as it hit the bank and swam off. I tried to pull it away but of course he'd grabbed it right in the middle and had the hook in his mouth.

The only time I'm glad to live in Mass is when I realize that we don't have many deadly bugs, snakes , or animals to worry about. I don't wanna get attacked by a wild animal while fishing. That would ruin the day for sure.

the best time i've had luck with them was if i see bass blowing up, or spooking bait fish, i throw the turtle right in the middle of all that and it seems like i always get a bite.
