Super User the reel ess Posted July 29, 2016 Super User Posted July 29, 2016 What's your rig for these? I got 2 bags of them mail ordered because I didn't pay close attention to what I picked. They're the smaller version of the Zoom Speed Craw-I T rig those. I don't find that I have a hook small enough to T rig these little guys. But I know they'll get bites since the larger version does. The smaller ones should draw more bites. Thanks. Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 29, 2016 Super User Posted July 29, 2016 Texas rigged on a 1/0 straight shank or EWG & 1/8 oz bullet wight DO NOT be afraid is reel it on top in places you would a frog! 4 Quote
Todd2 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I go a little heavier..I don't get good "flappage" on the fall with lighter weights with this craw. 1/4 to 3/8 2 Quote
bassin is addicting Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 one of my favorite baits...and it will catch big fish too...iv'e caught plenty of 3-4lb'ers on that bait. it is a great river bait. my favorite color is greenpumpkin magic. i texas rig it with a 1/0 or 2/0 ewg and usually 3/16oz. i agree that you need a little more than 1/8oz to get better action.. 1 Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted July 29, 2016 Author Super User Posted July 29, 2016 Thanks. The 2 bags I got by mistake are Okeechobee Craw color. The fish really like black/blue color combos where I fish and thought this will be a good one to try. Quote
BassThumb Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I thread those onto smaller jigs, personally. Their compact size helps them slither through weeds well. 1 Quote
Super User Goose52 Posted July 29, 2016 Super User Posted July 29, 2016 I use these a LOT as well. T-rigged on a 1/0 or 2/0 EWG. Bullet weights of either 3/16 or 1/4 oz. You can fish them many ways - drag or hop on the bottom, swim them, yo-yo them, etc. As Catt mentioned, these can be run on top - over and around slop - you can get bit on the surface, OR, if you get to a hole in the slop then let 'em sink....BAM ! 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 29, 2016 Super User Posted July 29, 2016 Y'all want action...reel it on top! That little tiny bait produces huge blowups! 2 Quote

Super User Catt Posted July 29, 2016 Super User Posted July 29, 2016 I fish the ultra vibe speed craw, speed craw, & ultra vibe speed worm on top like a frog in the lily pads & grass around here. 2 Quote
YoTone Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 the guy at tackle direct was screaming at me to use them as a trailer for a chatterbait. 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 They do make a great trailer for a jig when you wan a small profile. Trim the skirt at the hook bend and thread one on. Great topwater, especially if you're limited to how much gear you can take with you. Many ways to rig it. 2 Quote
