WPCfishing Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I'm a Lews rod and reel guy. I have gotten to know a few of the customer service folks over the last few years. So I call and talked with one of the techs a week or so ago about totally dialing two of my TP reels. I want them at Pro performance. I. was happy with what he has to say and an hour later my reels are on there way. Keep in mind the cost was of no concern to me. I just received an email from Quantum Ship. Lews sent them 2nd day air and didn't charge me one cent.. How could anyone ask for better than that. I feel great about it! They really do care. Quote
Fishinthefish Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 When I ordered my rod from DVT, I got picture updates, and a text message making sure I recieved the rod the day he was told I would. Quote

And so you should, you paid the price for a great custom rod and excellent service. Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 My personal experience I was impressed with G Loomis (Shimano) customer service and not so much with Dobyns. 1 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted July 28, 2016 Super User Posted July 28, 2016 I had a part break on my Lews LFS earlier this year. It was completely my fault, and happened when I was cleaning it, I tried forcing a piece back in a way it wasn't meant to. I called them up, told them what part broke, and they sent not only the part but the entire assembly around it, free of charge, priority mail, no questions asked. Didn't even ask me how the part broke. I didn't ask them to do that and was fully prepared to pay for the part and the shipping when I called. Very happy with their service. 3 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted July 28, 2016 Super User Posted July 28, 2016 I haven't had bad customer service from any rod or reel manufacturer that I have used. Have had some from lure companies though. Quote
BassThumbAddict Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 The only bad experience I've had with any companies in the fishing industry is TW. It was only one instance. My wife was buying me a new reel and the card she was using did not match the name on the person on the invoice. The questioning on this was completely justified by TW. I guess I should just say the lady she talked to was hateful about the whole process. As much as I use the internet to fuel my fishing hobby I consider this one small instance a blessing. Quote
WPCfishing Posted July 28, 2016 Author Posted July 28, 2016 Abu Garcia Customer Service is also excellent, a 1st Class Company. Can't say they're as good as Lews. Never experienced the same need or surprise. 2 Quote

It took just over a week for the whole process, including receiving his new rods. Quote

I have some plastic saved up to send you. They replaced one of my IKE rods not long ago.. Had it in a week. I broke it... They shocked me when they shipped me a new one. Lews has done the same and more. Both Great companies. Quote

CarolinaBoy4Life Posted August 2, 2016 Posted August 2, 2016 That's awesome service for sure. But unfortunately in today's America, with that gesture done once, many people (not meaning you) will expect that from here on out instead of a one time gesture by the company. I work for a leading OPE manf. and we receive the most absurd calls on a daily basis. Then people will threaten slander or to bad mouth on social media if the company does not give in to their demands. Its rather unfortunate that they do not understand the vast amount of calls received daily where someone expects something for nothing, or that they are owed something. Many times if you call in with a great attitude and not expecting something you will get a gesture such as Lews did for you. Rarely do you hear happy customers speak out, majority of the time its only "bad" service customers who speak out. Cudos to Lews 1 Quote
HeavyTwenty Posted August 6, 2016 Posted August 6, 2016 Lews was very nice to me too. Free two day delivery on free replacement parts. Quote
