I've only had White Castle, so....that's where my
vote goes. Until I try Krystal...

I go to White Castle about once every 4 years. After I eat there, I remember why I haven't been there in 4 years.

We have neither on the west coast.  We do have In n Out, which is probably better than both.  Also lately a fan of Sonic and Five Guys.

Which do you prefer?  To be waterboarded or be forced to watch Tom Green and Rob Schneider movies back to back?

Growing up in Chicago and living in Fla, I've had both and my vote is 100% Castle's. Thier bread is softer, meat is juicer, they're a cheap laxative, you can stil taste the onions 5 hrs later! ;)

Are we talking about the frozen microwaveable mini burgers? Because those things I could put back like 20 of them. They are amazing.

Had 5 guys for the first time the other day.  Burger was great.  Their medium fry was about 2 lbs of spuds.

There's no comparison with other burger joints (5 Guys, In and Out, etc.), but when it's 3 AM and you've put both Anheiser and Busch's kids through college that night, there's nothing better than big bag of Krystal's.

Nothing better than picking up a bag White Castle belly bombers and eating them on the way down to the lake.

Frozen is just not right!!

You haven't lived until you get them right off the grill after the meat has been simmering for a while as you watch the grease pop through the 5 holes in the patty. ??

(I also think they have the best coffee)

i voted White Castle only because of Harold and Kumar. I've never heard of Krystal.

actually i have had the frozen white castle burgers, but never even seen an actual franchise in person.

It's a midwest thing, like for years you couldn't buy Coors Beer east of the Mississippi River.

I personally have never seen one south of Indiana or east of Ohio. The guys who have  franchises in other areas will correct me soon. ;)

We have Krystal and have had White Castle. I vote Krystal since they are still around. When I was a teenager (several decades ago). I could eat a dozen Krystals. They were 10 cents then.

Ain't no replacement for a burger on the grill; often cheaper and exactly the way I want them. A heck of a lot better too.

Never had either, haven't even heard of Krystal's.

Lots of small mom and pop burger joints around here, you're not going to beat those places with a chain burger.

When my buddies and I showed back up at his dads house reeking of beer this was our reward or punishment depends on who you ask. His dad took us there and he bought our late night dinner. I do not remember I time in my life that I had projectile bodily fluids coming out of my body from some many different holes at one time. Tried to have it about five years later and ran to the bathroom as soon as I walked inside the place and crapped like crazy as I was dry heaving.

The things we do when we are younger.

That's why they call them "sliders".

Living in the St Louis area, I have had plenty of WCs. Never tried a Crystal. Back in the day, I was like VolFan and thought a big bag of WC burgers was a perfect end to a night of overindulgence. I quit drinking years ago, and realized that sober, White Castle burgers are disgusting! It wasn't long ago that I tried again to make sure that was still true; it is. I guess I would eat a bag rather than be stripped naked and publicly caned, but I would have to think about it...

Vote for White Castle.  I've had both and the White Castle is not quite as nasty as Krystal.   Neither should be considered food.

Ditto on the spuds.  The one I go to makes the fries with the skins on, put a bunch in a container, put the container in a brown paper bag and then pours the fires in on top of that.
