JigMaster4 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I know a lot of people are big fans of siebert jigs on the forum and rightfully so! I was wondering though what everyones opinion is on an all around color. If you could pick one color for all water clarity, and parts of the country, what would it be? It can be ones he already makes or it can be a custom one! Thanks! Quote
Molay1292 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 PB&J and Black an Blue are fairly universal. I usually start with one of them unless I am luck enough to get a look at the local crawdads. Quote
Fish4bigfish Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 why just one lol I fish 3 basic jig colors. Black, green and brown. Then I have variants of each. For example, pb n j is a brown and purple or black with blue. I don't fish the country but in California if I had to pick one color (thankfully I don't have to) it would be pb n j. Quote

I like the black green pumpkin on their site. I did just get me some bream and bluegill from them that are extremely nice looking. 1 Quote
Chris186 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Love the jigs, I usually get some type of watermelon/red and I really like the Bream. I don't think you can go wrong with any of his colors! 1 Quote
Super User ChrisD46 Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 Black & Blue and Green Pumpkin - these two colors are all you need ... 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 Black, Black & Blue and PBJ. 1 Quote
Frenchman83 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 He also has a jig pack that comes with his most popular colors Quote
Damn Yankee Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Fortunately Seibert jigs are so well priced you don't have to settle on one or two colors.I have a watermelon red that is a work of art and a custom bloody shad that is killer. All thr colors mentioned are great. Quote
Logan S Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 For an 'off the shelf' option, I'd go with Black/Blue. For custom, I've caught more bass on this color than any other combined over the past 10 years or so. Clear, dirty, shallow, deep, casting, flipping, swimming.... This is a Siebert Dock Rocker with my own skirt, it's not like this is a crazy custom color but for some reason very few people make a plain Black/Green. 2 Quote
Super User buzzed bait Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 black and blue or black and green.... those will work just about anywhere and everywhere! Quote
Siebert Outdoors Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 If I was to pick two if my favorites of them it would be Bama Craw and Black/Blue. Tipped by a Rage Craw in the matching color. 2 Quote

Siebert Outdoors Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 That is a real tough one due to the different types of fishing I do. If I had to pick one head and hook I would go with a Grid Iron Brush. It fits my fishing style and does everything I need it to in the lakes I fish. The main reason for the Grid Iron over the Dredge is the Grid Iron has a heavier hook. You said pick only one so I have to hit the most techniques and line weight all at once. The Grid Iron uses the XXX Strong Owner so I can use heavier line and lighter line. Obviously my choice would not be one. But if it was thats what I would throw. With that said I will never knock the arky style and its all around performance. 2 Quote
The Young Gun Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Honestly, just like everyone else says. Black and blue 3/8oz wire tied arky head. With matching rage menace in black and blue for a trailer. I've caught fish on this jig in every color water, every month of the season. Its a killer. Quote
Onvacation Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 Finally got to fish my Siebert jigs. I like supporting the little guy, and in my case, semi-local business. Can't wait until this weather breaks so I can up the size a bit, but this is my very first Siebert fish on black and blue. 3 Quote
Super User WRB Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 IF I had to choose 1 color combination it would be anywhere anytime; 3 color hair jig that is black/purple/barn red brown. With anywhere anytime I can match any of the 3 colors with a trailer or use a contrasting color like blue or green. I make my own jigs, if and when I need off the shelf jigs I will buy from Seibert because he uses premium hooks and makes a top quality product. Tom 1 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted August 20, 2016 Super User Posted August 20, 2016 Sometimes I think I'm the only person who doesn't like black/blue that much...my bass seem to prefer browns and greens with purple, orange or chartreuse highlights -- The Siebert colors I've been getting a lot of mileage out of are PBJ, Sweet Craw, Summer Craw, Green pumpkin purple, Bama Craw, Bama Bug, and pumpkin/orange! 1 Quote
Onvacation Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Most of the time, I'm right there with you. I'm loaded with green pumpkin and watermelon plastics, and my jigs in green and Browns probably out number black and blue four to one. But it seems like I always have a black and blue tied on. Quote
The Young Gun Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 Well, I know everyone else has said it, and I will reinforce it. If I could have one jig, a siebert arky head in 3/8oz in black and blue. Trim the skirt a little, leave the weed guard. Put a trailer on to match. And thats a winning combo. I have caught fish all over wisconsin in all different colored waters and situations with this jig. Its money, and the hook is one i'd bet a tournament on. He ONLY makes quality. Quote
HeavyDluxe Posted August 21, 2016 Posted August 21, 2016 3/8oz Brush Heads for me... I have black/blue, PB&J, Brown/Orange, Sweet Craw, and the Bluegill/panfish color that I can never remember. The latter, paired with a green pumpkin craw, has been the confidence jig this summer. Quote

IgotWood Posted August 26, 2016 Posted August 26, 2016 @long island basser, you live in LI and don't striped bass fish??? I cried when I had to move from CT and leave my beloved striper surf Anyhow, I had a box of Siebert jigs arrive in the mail today. I have heard nothing but great reviews. They sure are solid. The paint, the hook, the wire on the skirt. Best thing about them is that they seem to be slightly cheaper than commercial jigs. I will give them a dunk tommorow morning for sure! Quote
