You_Only_Live_Once_Fishing Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I have been having issues with the Tournament ZX Rods. I want to trade in my current setup ($160-180) and my copper river combo ($70). I would most likely get a $110 rod. That gives me just enough to get a stradic for $150 I would also put 15 pound test yellow braid 125 yards with an 8 pound leader I will have another setup as a backup. I already own that. anyone know where i can get a new stradic ci14 for about 150? Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 If you are referring to the 2016 Stradic Ci4+ I HIGHLY DOUBT you will find it for that price anywhere. Now the prior CI4+ you can probably find fairly easily for $175. The orginal CI4 I have seen go as low as $150 but that is used with some cosmetic wear. Buying used would be your only option to secure the reel at $150 IMO Quote
Jon G Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 You could possibly find one used. TW has the old (non 2016) model on sale for $190. You can find the Stradic FK for $165-175 on auction sites as well. Shimanos tend to hold their value for a long time if they are super solid built reels, just look at the Curado 200e7. So in all honesty I think it may be a little difficult to find one at that price. wnspain Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Wally Corder had 1 for sale ($150) in the flea market here back on July 8th Quote

Not that sensitivity is all important in a crankbait rod, next to a Veracity, the stick has no life, nada, none! 1 Quote

Nathan Burton Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 Ca bel a's has some of the pre 2016 model stradics for $160. Any order over $99 should ship for free. Don't pay the new price for a used reel. Hope this helps. Quote

Super User MickD Posted July 26, 2016 Super User Posted July 26, 2016 I have three Stradics and have had no trouble with them. Last reel I bought was a Symetre, and it seems to me to be as good as the Stradics for function. I have bought two of my Stradics on Ebay, they were used, slight cosmetic scratches, and have had no regrets. When buying from Ebay don't buy from anyone below about 99% approval. Anyone that high who has been selling a while will be reliable and honest. Quote

I have read nothing to say the the Ci4+ has changed. Quote
DaveT63 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 I would seriously consider a used Stradic FJ. I have a couple of the original Stradic CI4 reels and like them. But I have bought a couple of the FJs and like them just as much. They really aren't that much heavier in the grand scheme, and are just as smooth. To boot, they can be found for around $100-120 if you are patient. They won't disappoint you. Dave Quote

I have read nothing to say the the Ci4+ has changed. I'm not sure of the exact specifics. I'm sure it's the same as every update in a series of reel. Lighter. Stronger. Shinier. They just came out with a newer version of the Stradic ci4 this year. Hence why I said pre2016. I didn't want to mislead him into thinking he was getting this years "newer" model for 160. 1 Quote
curtis9 Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 If you search enough you may find an older ci4 or ci4+ on clearance for less than $150. I doubt you'll find the new model. Unless you need the weight savings the FJ is s great reel and can be found under your budget and will allow you to spend a little more on your rod. Quote
d-camarena Posted July 26, 2016 Posted July 26, 2016 The new shimano nasci looks decent at the 100 range Quote
