Guest the_muddy_man Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey fellas i have a real small humble aluminum row boat with an electric motor this is the third season that ended with the carpet peelin off AUGH!!!!! How can I get a carpet to stay on this is getting frustrating Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 When I bought mine, it had carpet all over the inside. What a mess. If I may suggest, make removable floors and carpet those. This also allows you to bring them in for the winter. Carpet also stays dry because it is held off the floor because the decks sit on the ribs. Hers the link to my boat again, and another link on just how to build the floors. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1119359773 http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1123797400/9#9 Good luck, PM for any questions if needed. Guest the_muddy_man Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 Hey Thank u LBH good to hear from u again. My fishin partner Ron is great with tools and wood so now we will have something to do come March and we are waiting for the #@%*! ice to melt! I on the other hand have a Brooklyn tool box which consits of a broken tapped hammer, a bent pliers l phillips head screw driver and l flathead srew driver and most importantly a roll of DUCK TAPE if that dosent fix it I probablly needed a new one anyway. Im among the fixit disabled :-/ Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 1, 2005 Posted December 1, 2005 hey muddy, you forgot the exacto knife with no blade lol This is a great project to help with therapy for your disability. Very, very easy project, especially with a tool-qualified helper. Again, very simple, like arts n crafts for adults. Cutting, gluing, stapling. Easy. Good luck and I'm sure you'll be amazed at the difference in having flat, dry, carpeted floors. ;D Quote
Rattlinrogue Posted December 2, 2005 Posted December 2, 2005 Hey LBH,what kind of glue do you use to install the carpet? Quote
Low_Budget_Hooker Posted December 3, 2005 Posted December 3, 2005 I use 3m Hi-strength 90 spray adhesive on the "heavy" setting. Very important to spray each surface and let them kick up seperately for 1-2 minutes before joining. Stuff works great, no mess, I used this stuff also in car audio fabrication for carpeted or leathered surfaces like subwoofer boxes and doorpanels. Use a couple extra sweeps of spray over the "high traffic" areas like where you stand in the front. Quote
