I have heard that the internals are basically the same due to being owned by the same company. However, the Simrad's screen looks much better than the Lowrance as well as the mounting system.  I was wondering if anyone had experience with either one of these units and what there input is.

There are some of the same internal components, but they are nowhere near the same units.  Also, they have different features available.
