You_Only_Live_Once_Fishing Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 will be fishing deep clear water that screams spooks... what is a good one that i can get cheap. I had the Ima skimmer, but it broke, worked well though Quote
papajoe222 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Either the Super Spook Jr. or their one knocker. Add an oval split ring and you're good to go. 2 Quote
Turkey sandwich Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Heddon makes the Spook line of walking baits. Quote
Torn Thumb Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I think he wants a cheaper knock off alternative. Quote
Super User J Francho Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 A Super Spook is around $7. Can't get a bait that good for much less. 2 Quote
Airman4754 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 If you're looking for a good knock off Sebile makes a decent one. The ass end dips down in the water but it still walks just fine. 3 Quote
Super User Catt Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 Super Spook or Rattling Chug Bug Quote
lakeannaangler Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 The heddon spook costs about $7, any cheaper and the bait won't be very good Quote
Super User king fisher Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 Rebel Jumping minnow. Very easy to walk, casts far, cheap Quote
RUSS9999 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Bass Pro Z-Pop $4.00 Bleeding Shad. Big Bass love it! Quote
timsford Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Definitely the original. Look around at different places online and you can probably find them on sale somewhere Quote
timsford Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Vimageoutdoors.com has originals, chug-n-spooks, and one knocker spooks on sale for $4.99-5.79 Quote
Mr. Aquarium Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 heddon is a classic. strike king sexy dawgs are killer baits. but my new favorite is the tsunami talking popper. walks like a champ with splashing action. cast like a bullet on light braid Quote
Molay1292 Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 I am kind of a top water nut, I like trying the new baits that come out and have a bunch of them. In my opinion get yourself a bone colored spook Jr. and call it a day. It might not be the very best, but day in and day out it catches fish. If you just want to spend some money on a good bait, the shower blows shorty by evergreen and the Lucky Craft Gunfish are both good. 3 Quote
Super User MIbassyaker Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 Another fan of the super spook jr here -- it's one of those "just right" baits on performance vs. price. The Sebile Flat Belly walker is also pretty inexpensive and both sizes walk well. The sebile does sit funny though, as mentioned above, and thus gets fouled with weeds a little more often than the spooks if you've got vegetation just under the surface. Quote
