Jonathan Evans Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 This is just nuts. A guy in the Florida everglades makes his own frogs and uses a kayak. I trimmed the video because it did have him promoting his lures for sell and I did not want to get in trouble. I would give anything to have this happen to me. He does not land the fish but that blow up is the stuff dreams are made of. http://www.tubechop.com/watch/8199980 2 Quote
Super User Gundog Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 That looked like a great white shark hitting a seal. They never hit my lures like that. 2 Quote

I have seen great videos from the everglades. I watched a guy fishing a canal that was drying up and pull in a bass every cast. I will be getting a kayak and going soon. Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 I probably would have had a heart attack, I get on edge and my heart races even when tiny ones hit it near my kayak. 1 Quote

frogflogger Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 Watch the weather in Florida - if they have an extended dry spell - go - mortgage the house, borrow of your kids college fund but go - the canals in south Florida in a dry year are unbelievable - many times clients had over 200 fish in a half day charter. 2 Quote

This is one of our local guys that always goes to the everglades. Is this what you are talking about? This video is insane. Quote

Super User flyfisher Posted July 23, 2016 Super User Posted July 23, 2016 I am pretty sure that is Ken Daubert who makes the Capt Ken's clone frogs. The only reason why i say that though is because i know he is from florida and he uses spinning tackle. http://www.bass-frog.com 1 Quote

I want to order a frog from him. They are pricey but handmade and very nice. 1 Quote
Super User Darren. Posted July 23, 2016 Super User Posted July 23, 2016 Good gravy man, that's a fantastic blow up. At Lake Gaston on vacation, threw a big jitter bug and got a fantastic hit, no take. I threw a wacky worm to follow quickly (hey @A-Jay they really do work) and hauled in the little fella. I dream of big bass hitting topwater baits.... 3 Quote

I think its called Reedy Creek. but just catching bass after bass in the middle of the day. Quote

I wish I could say Gaston has been that awesome. Can say that I've had ZERO skunks, which is good. My youngest scored the biggest fish, a 6-7 pound catfish. Weighed on my Boga, but my old eyes could only find the major marks in low light, alas. I learned a pattern from an old timer that works here, according to him, but I didn't have success fishing it tonight. Was in a smaller body (Lizard Creek) but probably would have had better luck on the main body with deeper waters. Ah well. We will likely vacation here again. Has been absolutely wonderful. Fantastic lake. I'd love to find a guide and get properly schooled to fish this body of water. 1 Quote

Thinking about buying a Jon boat or a kayak and just going by myself. I have never fished a fresh body of water that big. Everyone here always talks about Okeechobee. Its like the bass fishing mecca around here. 1 Quote

Even so, there were plenty of knuckleheads who disregarded the "No Wake" zones even when they looked right at me. PFD 100% of the time!! Okeechobee is on my bucket list. I'd definitely hire a guide there. 1 Quote

My best friend is a trucker and said he slayed them when he fished it. Quote
