Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted July 21, 2016 Super User Posted July 21, 2016 Pokemon Go!!!! Has swept the world by storm. How many otherst of yall have decided to join the Pokemon hunt?! Interesting rules. Do not go to cemeteries during normal business hours. As told to me by a World of War Craft nerd recently. After conferring with a grounds keeper at a local cemetery I was astounded to learn that this is quite true. Said grounds keeper informed me that they have had two funerals disrupted by young adults wandering through the middle of funerals watching theit phones. How disrespectful and rude can people possibly be. That is disturbing and completely infuriating. That may be a new low. Do not wander off cliffs while watching a phone screen. Apparently it has happened. Do not stop in the middle of a road preventing traffic to pass. I mean honestly, how is that even an issue. STH Do not choose the wrong "color" team in the wrong town. Apparently the nerds take this seriously. I was told straight up by the Warcraft nerd, that the area I was visiting was "blue" and they don't take kindly to "reds" in this area. Apparently, barking out Crippppppp and throwing signs up, went above his head. Seeing as I got a weird look. I'm sure I'll run across some more to update my do not list. Quote

Super User soflabasser Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 Yeah these people need to get a life and spend a little more time outdoors and a little less time playing video games. It's much more fun catching real animals than catching them in some little video game. 1 Quote

Super User clayton86 Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 I had a kid walk into my truck today o watched the kid cross the parking lot while I was on my kayak and never look up from his phone and walk right into the front of my truck. Only safe to assume he was hunting Pokemon. Quote

Your position was taken and I agree. 1 hour ago, Nice_Bass said: while I am no supporter of this pokemon thing ...the dumbing of our nation happened on your watch also there old timers!!! In our wildest dreams we never thought our kids would be so easily manipulated and distracted to destroy the very country that most likely their own family fought and worked hard so they could have a better life. Never did this country as a whole have a issue determining what was between our legs. Never did we see punching a keypad as a form of exercise. Never did we see no pledge to our own nation in schools. Never did we see no prayer allowed. I agree with you we horribly underestimated how foolish our children could be. Yeah get off the grass you don't respect the effort it took to make it green. Edited July 22, 2016 by S. Sass 1 Quote

Yeah get off the grass you don't respect the effort it took to make it green. See, the thing about nostalgia is it must be held in place by both the good and the bad. Yep, My daughter never has to worry about not being able to go to the same school as her white friends, only has to look up where she can vote, and not if. Never will she be denied a credit card for being a women and being single, never will she get denied to an ivy league school for being a women, and last but not least, she will never have to worry about eating green jello salads. you see, you may want to pick up that pet rock of yours; while we should not have to carry all the weight of the shameful side of Our history, we should always remember both sides of history and carry the knowledge and significance of it. A good reminder....you are only 15 years older than me...about the age of my daughter to put it in perspective...so while I do acknowledge the shame of current generations, I also accept the great that comes from them as well. wnspain Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 The whole Pokemon BS is ridiculous IMO, but I'm not very tolerant of stupidity BTW - The only reason I clicked on the thread was the OP is part of Raider Nation 1 Quote
lecisnith Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I am rarely one to judge people on how they spend their free time. However, I felt much better about this when I was aware of it but ignorant to any of the details than I am now that the game has been explained to me. I'm glad I lost my youthful exuberance before Pokémon became a thing so I don't have the nostalgia aspect to go along. Now, if they make an augmented reality where you have to capture He-Man, Thundercats, Voltron, and Looney Tunes characters, I might get sucked in for a millisecond. Quote

Super User Senko lover Posted July 25, 2016 Super User Posted July 25, 2016 I'm not a gamer and never will be. I'd rather play PG than most other games, but heck I'd rather go for a run or lift some weights. Just me, I'm weird. Quote
