JandJoutdoors Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 I was recently fishing on a local lake using GYCB senkos, we were catching tons of fish but we were going through a senko per fish, then I got out the bps stik-o they didn't fall as slow but they had the same action and they were more durable than senkos, (on a side note bps brand is also much cheaper) I am considering making the switch to bps brand. No hate meant toward GYCB just exploring my options Quote
TrapperJ Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 me and my buddy both watch them work on our local lake, even better when the big tourney bag is on sale, less than 10 bucks! also if you like to wacky rig, get some O rings or the saddle (my fav) they will last even longer! 1 Quote
trick worms Posted July 21, 2016 Posted July 21, 2016 Those seem like the best knockoff senkos. Yum dingers are really light and the big bite baits ones don't have great action 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted July 21, 2016 Global Moderator Posted July 21, 2016 They're my stick worm of choice. I like to stock up when they're on sale. They're great on a shakyhead too. 3 Quote
Super User kickerfish1 Posted July 21, 2016 Super User Posted July 21, 2016 For a senko knockoff they are actually pretty good baits IMO. Not quite as heavy and they tend to put more salt on outside and in the package than actually in the bait like the senko which is probably why they weigh less. I like them as cheaper alternative and also like the price you pay for a generous quantity. Quote
Super User Darren. Posted July 22, 2016 Super User Posted July 22, 2016 I'm with @Bluebasser86, they're my stick of choice, esp., when on sale. I do stock up on certain GYCB colors that are not in other brands, though.... Quote
HeavyDluxe Posted July 22, 2016 Posted July 22, 2016 It's funny, because I went to a BPS today as a belated Father's Day present... And, I must've stood in the stickbait aisle for a full twenty minutes debating this very issue... Do I get the enticingly-inexpensive and outwardly-appealing Stik-Os (especially cheap in the huge packs) or do I get the tried-and-true GYCB Senko? In the end, I opted for the senko... The simple fact is that, in my experience, I get bit more often with the GYCB. The action as they fall is subtly different than the BPS knock-offs. And, I dunno, I just have confidence that this little difference matters. Unless it's a monster, I can get a couple fish per senko, and that's a cheap enough rate that I'm willing to risk it. That said, I still have some BPS Stik-Os leftover from last year that I haven't used. If I start getting bit on them, I'll be a huge convert. EDIT: Related Quote

S. Sass Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Just now, trick worms said: Have never heard of those, thanks You know you always hear about this is the one etc and it never seems like its close. Its like the second you get it in your hands you almost know its not gonna be close to a Senko. But these Sassy Sticks I felt like right away they had a good chance of imitating if not duplicating the Senko. Seriously try one and tell me that isn't a dang close if not a very close match. I will say these are like 1/2" longer but I prefer that over the shorter baits. If I want a shorter version Ill cut it off. Other than that very very similar. Did I mention Bizzbaits is a forum sponsor. I cant remember but I think he does a 10% discount to forum members as well. But you better ask to make sure I am no representative. 2 Quote

At $5.00 a bag and use the 10℅ discount it's about .56¢ EA vs a Senko we can say at $7.00 a bag of 10 is .70¢ EA. I think it's worth it. Sure sales etc change but it's a good deal in comparison. MichiganBass80 Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I have a few of the bulk packs of Stik-O's, and a ton of GYCB Senkos. I prefer the Senkos but the Stik-O's are good. The baby bass is my go to when wacky rigged, and the only Senko color I use. The stik-o just doesn't fall the same and like HeavyDeluxe I get bit more with the Senko. The stick-o's are good, and since I have bulk packs in 3 different colors I'll use them.. Quote
