For me the 130 in Shad color is a tournament grading machine. The bass that hit the 130 wont have to measured on a 12" board.Theydo have bad habits thougn and are like throwing a brick in the water on an overhead cast.Short underhand cast seem to help on entry.Great bait with several guys in local tourneys trying to keep it a secret.

I have had good luck with the 130's. I use the; I know it, yellow head and phantom shad.  I don't see the point in using the 90's when the 130 brings the big bites.  Several times the plopper put kicker fish in my bags that gave me a huge boost.  The hook up rate is great with this bait the hooks keep the fish pinned every time.  I primarily use this bait as a culling tool.....like many big fish baits it requires a lot of dedication. To avoid its brick like entry I just bomb it out past my target.... another tip I have found with these baits is to not let your line drag the water in front of it....rod high line out of the water and it will get smoked.

Have you tried the new 110's yet?

The 90 in Bone/Loon is about the only open water topwater lure I use.  I like it as the size and weight lets me use it on a wide range of rods, so I keep on stashed in my tackle sling.

I tend to only throw it as a last resort lure, but it has never failed to get me at least a single fish. I do crimp the barbs on mine as it seems to consistanly foul hook bass with one of the hooks. I am thinking about just removing the front trebble altogehter and maybe beefing up the rear one.

I gave up trying to get to poop and started using it as a  super shallow crank.  Caught about a dozen small bass on it one afternoon, then got cocky, threw it in the some brush, and lost it.  I think I liked it enouh to replace it next time I do a big tackle order.
