Robert Riley Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 So I fish a lot of borrow pits and I've always been curious of the topography. Has anyone charted a borrow pit? Has anyone taken the time to use a Carolina rig to feel it out? I know that mine are mostly weedy mud bottoms. Quote

It is ponds near roadways that are created by digging a hole to get the dirt to form elevated roadways/overpasses. The dirt is "borrowed" to make the elevations.
