Trying to find out what changed on say a 2005 Ranger 17vs to to a 2006 Ranger 17vs. Where would I look?

Get a yearly spec sheet or brochure on the boat your interested in from the dealer or manufacturer.

Can't help you with Ranger. Lund has 20 years of catalogs archived on their website.

Nothing in particular. Just as I'm looking at older boats I want to know their specs.

I wanted to know similar things about boats when I was looking. Seems boats aren't as well documented as automobiles. Some boats have documentation or records and some don't. 

From my experience all you can do is research with Google, make phone calls or email the manufacturers. And post on boat/fishing forums and hope for the best.
