This thread could very easily be placed in the "Other Species" area.  I would be much more inclined to fish it for big pike or musky than for bass and it is less...(ahem) "laughable" in that application.

For those of you skeptical about throwing big baits...Bass don't have to be very big to want a big bait. Both of these rat fish are equally as big as the larger rat from Savage.  Both of the fish bleow are only 2.5-3lbs. ~17".  I have the duck and rat on the way from TW as soon as they are shipped in.

The small one is smaller than a 130 Whopper Plopper, andhas a pretty similar action it seems. The big one is a big bite but no doubt little 1 pounders will still smack it. I've caught enough bass smaller than 2 pounds on baits much larger than those ducks to know there's nothing too big about them. Heck their 6" bluegill isn'tmuch smaller than my hand and 4oz, only thing that's hit it so far was a 12 incher.

LOL, still love seeing the "that's for musky," "you fishing for sharks?," and the ever popular "my bass aren't big enough to eat anything besides a senko" crowd doubt the effectiveness of bigger lures.

Carry on but watch once these things get in the hands of people who believe in them....
