If you guys have any questions about cheaper hardbait lures, go ahead and ask. I love cheaper hardbait lures and they seem to work just as well as expensive ones

Ok best cheap deap diver crank talking over 15 feet

My personal favorite is in the Lunker-hunt Kraken series of lures. They don't have exact models, but they do have a few baits that will go deeper than 15ft

Voltage hand painted lipless cranks at dsg. Work great and can be had for about 2-3$.

Jawbone spinnerbaits. they run right around 2.99 at dicks sporting goods. Awesome baits for the price

I need some good square bills in the sub 5$ category.

Also, I wanna know about jawbone tackle. I've bought a couple poppers but gave them to my son to have. 8 year olds don't tend to give accurate fishing reports.

For cheap squarebills, Lunker-hunt Kraken series crankbaits from dicks sporting goods are awesome. I have caught a couple of good sized smallies on mine.

As far as jawbone goes, their frogs are probably their best lure. Their hardbaits/poppers are pretty good. I would give them a 6/10. Personally, i do prefer Lunker-hunt over jawbone as far as cheap DSG baits go

H2O series from Academy. They're the first bait I reach for when I need a squarebill and they're on sale for $3 all the time. All their hard baits are good really.

What he said. I've got two of these that I bought two years ago from academy and they've taken a beating. I throw my squarebills in rock mostly and they've held up really well. The hooks are pretty good too.

I planned on it about a month ago when there was a sale but it's kind of an out of sight out of mind purchase. No Academies around here so I finally subscribed to the email list so I can order online for the next sale.

Although the price recently went up, Bandit 100s and Shallow Flat maxxs are about as good as anything out there and probably better. In my experience smallies don't get dialed off them either, so their sound must be natural enough to continue to fool them.

Will keep my eye out for one.  I like Jawbone lures.  They're not great, butfor $3 they work.  I have a small 1/4 oz. frog and a squarebill from them.

Cheap drop shot lure aaaand go!?

Yum Warning shot, kill shot, or sharp shooter or the 3" Yum Dinger...............$2.99  a bag. The 4" sharpshooters come 20 to a bag, and catch the fire out of them. That's a lot of bang for the buck.

Almost ALL my plastics are $2.99 Yum and $2.99 Berkley Havoc baits, with the exception of a few things like chigger craws, and power worms............which I buy from Walmart, who still charge less than $4 a bag for them, where they are $4.50+ every where else.

H20 or Booyah.

I wish my local Academy would start carrying their popping frogs since I normally use them instead of standard frogs :(
