Ascend FS12T or FS128T help!

Been thinking Kayaks, right away i thought about the FS128T talked to some people about the FS128T then started noticing the FS12T $200 cheaper, lighter

so if you can make a comparison for anyone who has been on both what are your thoughts? or thoughts on either model you own.

Some notes, I have a small trailer i plan to use to haul the Yak for loading and unloading. Also i gotta get the wife one so getting one $200 cheaper really sounds great!

I dont want to be in the situation and go "whlep i should have spent the extra $200"  but honestly from what i have seen on youtube and some reviews i "think" i'll be perfectly happy with the FS12T

I honestly can't help all I can say is I'v falling in love with the fs128t an I think my heart is set on it no matter what...... (for my price range anyway)

I just recently bought the fs12t as my first kayak. It does everything I need it to do. It is a beast though, but the stability on it is insane. I haven't quite made it to many standing positions but I've fished comfortably for hours.

To me and my back the seat of the 128 looks way more comfortable but dont have a clue if it is.

Both have excellent features for a fisherman. However, as a fellow kayaker who has to often carry his kayak to the water, pay attention to the weight of both. 77 and 96 pounds respectively are pretty heavy to carry very far without a cart. I went with a much smaller kayak just because my few launch places require me to carry mine a couple hundred yards each way in a military press style, and I ain't no John Cena here just sayin'

I sold my Wilderness system yak and used my buddies fs128t for a few weeks. I absolutely loved it besides it being very leaky(2016) model. I use a 20l dry bag so it wasnt a very pressing issue but it does leak. Very stable for me. I walked the deck as much as i could. Great storage space. not the fastest or easiest to handle. Rudder kit is $79 online. I ended up buying one through my buddy at bass pro for 40% off so after tax is was 513.60. Since buying my own its been on the water several times with no issues.

I have the FS10, which weighs just over 50lbs. I probably wouldn't want a kayak much over 60lbs at the max, because like you said, I have to carry it over my head. With the two OP is mentioning I would definitely want a cart.

I have a '14 128T.  It was my first one.  A great value for the dough, once you reseal the hatches and beef up the foam supports.  The swiveling seat is all day comfortable, it's got huge storage space, is stand up stable, and accepts a transom mount trolling motor easily.

It's rigged very well for a $800 kayak, something to think about if the 12 is only $200 less, meaning, will you spend more than $200 to get the 12 rigged like the 128.  The 128 could use rails, a better paddle holder, and rigid handles on the sides.

As far as the weight, it's manageable.  I use BPS's wheel cart to get it from my truck to the water.  I can get it onto my ladder rack by putting a rubber floor mat on the ground behind the truck, bear hugging it and using the back rack to lever it up.
