Bank fishing

I only fishing I can do right now is fish from the bank lines I have not had much luck with plastic baits and tips on how to catch more fish

Since you mention you aren't having luck on plastics, what kind are you using? If you try a 4" GY Senko in green pumpkin and don't catch a fish within an hour of fishing it properly, I'd find some new water. 

You might also try some top water lures such as poppers, frogs, buzzbaits, or spooks. You can get some cheap knock-off versions to try out at DSG or Wallymart.

Squarebills in sunfish and crayfish patterns. That's right I said cray not craw.

I personally like to use shakey heads with a zoom trick worm and t-rigs with a Berkley Power Worm. I had A LOT of success with that when I was bank fishing. Also, I had success with a popper. Depending on where I was fishing I would throw a black and blue jig, hop and crawl it all the way back to you. Several times I had a fish smack it 3 foot from the bank.

are you fishing in a pond, lake or river? its much harder to catch bass from the bank of a large lake or river than a smaller pond

I've had incredible luck with the Keitech Crazy Flapper this year on a shaky football head jig this year. But as always chartreuse squarebills just kill it for me no matter the time, weather or water temp in the summer.

Time - arrive at the lake as soon as possible (preferably when it's still a little dark where you can see where you're walking but too dark to tie a knot) or later at sunset.  Once the sun comes out and it starts to get hot, you're at a disadvantage from the bank. 

Location - look for the usual fishy spots and ambush points - any cover/structure, dropoffs, points, etc.  A long flat featureless stretch of water is something you want to avoid.

Presentation - dropshot and squarebills.  Fan cast from 30-60 degrees from the shore.  Don't cast straight out as far as you can, most of the fish you catch will be fairly close to shore.  Work the dropshot slowwwwwly and don't shake the rod vigorously, just a light tap every few seconds.  With squarebills just work them back on a nice steady retrieve and stay alert all the way back - there are times when I've gotten bit right at the brief pause at the end of a retrieve when I'm about about to lift it out of the water for a re-cast.

Work a Wacky rig or Lizard very slowly along the edge. (contrary to most fishermen who cast straight out) I usually work it much like a football jig or a tube. I usually shy away from cranks unless I am in a very confined area, (i.e. a canal or small cove) and in that case I usually get reaction strikes from burning a shallow running crankbait. 

If you get no bites on that in about half an hour, try a chatterbait. Work it like almost like a swimbait (slower) and wait for that bite on the (long) pause.

I second the Senko idea, once I started fishing them correctly I catch somthing nearly every time I go out.

Look for patches of vegetation growing in the water near the bank. Don't get right on top of it, but get close enough that you can run a bait by it while fishing parallel to the bank.

define fishing them correctly please...

i've caught senko fish by dragging them slow on the bottom(pausing and not pausing), dead sticking them, hopping/yo-yoing them, swimming them, burning them across the top, etc...

a lot of baits are much more versatile than people think...
