Advice on fishing this pond.

I live by a park in Crestview Florida that has a 10 acre stocked pond. The only activity is in the morning and evening during sunset. The bass in this pond will push the bait fish to the shoreline and trap them. The bank is full of vegetation so I tried using a Texas rig worm and they just ignore it all together. I know I need to match the hatch but I was just wondering if anyone could recommend a bait that could work in this situation. I am thinking of trying a Zoom fluke or something like that but Would like some info first. Thanks

You might try a buzzbait/spinnerbait that is similar color to the bait you are describing. I would think a fluke would work as well. Good luck.

When the baitfish are being pushed try using a shallow running squarebill like a Strike King KVD HC or 1.0 and cast parallel to the shore just a few feet out from where the baitfish are spazzing out,   Don't burn it back too fast try to give the impression of a injured baitfish that got chased into deeper water away from the main school.  Or use a dropshot and cast it out parallel just the same a few feet out and work it back slowly like an injured baitfish.  When the shad are being chased to the shore at a local lake a dropshot will usually get bit in the first 10 seconds.

When bass push these bait fish up like this in my pond I use a small buzzbait or a 2-3in swimbait mostly. Some other good options that ive used are a small popper, texas rigged craw,small spinnerbaits or square bill. I have fished bigger baits during these situations but I have found that small lures work much better and I still catch plenty of good quality fish. Best of Luck to ya.

I was going to suggest a soft plastic swimbait as well.

Try using a moving bait like a crankbait, swimbait, or possibly a spinnerbait. You might be able to get a reaction bite.

A fluke would probably be a good choice. Also a weightless trick or finesse worm. Throw it in front of them, let it sink, and flick it like a fluke.
