Looking to try a new brand of braid for bait caster. Best brand that is not ridiculously priced

I've had no problems with any of the major brands. They didn't get to be that large because their products were garbage.

Some get a favorite following but most I have tried will cast comparably and fish comparably. Maybe a perfectionist measures the difference but I'm out to fish.

I don't care for how stiff PP is and the noise it makes coming through guides. So far for me it's Daiwa Samurai, Sunline FX2 and Seaguar Smackdown. Gonna start trying others cuz that's just part of being a tackle junky/enthusiasts. There is some new stuff coming out at iCast. And want to try some of the high end Japanese made braids from YGK G-Soul. That being said u can get Smackdown for $35 bucks, can't go wrong w that especially since u can get a yr out of it.

I like the Power Pro Spectra but Suffix 832 is a bit quieter and works well. I have also used and liked SpyderWire Stealth.

You can make braid a lot cheaper by installing some good quality mono or copoly on your reel first. I spool the reel up half way with backing then add my expensive Florocarbon or braid. This is worth doing as now a spool of line will fill two reels and the braid can not slip on the spool itself. Just learn to tie a good tight arbor knot on the spool and learn to tie the uni to uni knot for the mono to braid connection.

I really like Suffix on baitcasters.  You want to get a hard finish that doesn't unravel easily and doesn't absorb a lot of water.  If it absorbs water it will get heavy and "jump" off the spool tangling in itself and bringing the cast to a hard stop.

I already back it. I don't mind the price of braid. I was looking for some new braid to try and I've heard PP and spiderwire are probably the best for the price. Thanks for the opinions everyone
