Super User fishnkamp Posted July 10, 2016 Super User Posted July 10, 2016 I am just curious why did you accept it? Could you have started a claim with the shipper right then? Quote

It was delivered to my complex's office. They signed for it or accepted it. I have contacted the company it was purchased from and am waiting to hear back how to proceed. Hopefully they make it a quick and painless process. Quote
Super User fishnkamp Posted July 10, 2016 Super User Posted July 10, 2016 They should take care of it. It is the shippers fault. Man that stinks because they are really nice rods. And you can see the shipper new the screwed up when they taped it up there. Boy I am jealous, I just noticed where you live. I have had some health problems the last four years or I would be sorta a neighbor. My wife is addicted to smallmouth so we have been leaving MD and vacationing on Center Hill and Dale Hollow Lakes. Without the health issues on and off we would have already moved to somewhere near McMinnville , Cookeville,,maybe even Winchester. I am just not sure if I live there how do i choose which lake to go to? They are all so good! You have the other end of the Tennessee River and its impoundments. Which one do you like best, Pickwick, Wheeler, Wilson, Kentucky or"other"? Quote
TxHawgs Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 That's a shame man, I have that rod and love it for my topwater and light soft plastics. This one co. I deal w ships all my rods in PVC pipe which is so nice. Then I have it to use in the future. If they are a reputable co. they will ship u another rod immediately overnight. Quote

One less NRX in the world is never a good thing. The last three loomis rods I bought were drop shipped straight from Shimano/Loomis. This one was shipped from vendor. The tube used for shipping by Shimano/Loomis was very similar to the one this shop used. It would have taken some serious force to break it like it is. PVC is always the preferred method. I am assuming if they have one in stock they will get it on the way to me quickly. On 7/10/2016 at 7:55 AM, fishnkamp said: They should take care of it. It is the shippers fault. It was July 2nd and a mad house. I am looking forward to going back when it is less crazy. I have been fishing mostly two smaller lakes in the area. When it cools off a little I am looking forward to spending some full days on all four of those lakes. Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Bummer dude. But it gives you a chance to change your mind and pick the right NRX spinning rod the 872s Quote

EllisJuan Posted July 11, 2016 Author Posted July 11, 2016 The vendor hopped on it this morning and ordered my replacement from Loomis. I was hoping they would have one in stock, but no dice. So far they are handling the situation as would be expected. They have not said anything about shipping the broken rod back...if they don't ask for it back should I hit up the Loomis Expeditor Program? Quote

If I did the "bonus" rod would probably break on a 10lb'r. BUT, it seems like a real shame to let a beautiful NRX go to waste when it could be replaced for $100... Maybe I should ask them if they want it back, if they say no tell them my intentions. Quote

Super User iabass8 Posted July 11, 2016 Super User Posted July 11, 2016 I've never had a broken rod shipped to me by a vendor but I have had the incorrect rod shipped to me. Both times they sent me out the new rod immediately with a return shipping label. I had to put the incorrect rod in the tube the new rod came in when /i received it and slap the new return label on it and drop it off. They said I had X amount of time to do so or they would charge me for the new rod that was sent. I think they said I had 2 weeks. I assume you're going to be in the same situation. Quote

EllisJuan Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 Received the replacement today. Took a little longer than ideal, but apparently the vendor was waiting on it from Loomis. Overall, I am really happy with how it was handled by them. They are still waiting to see if they will need the broken rod for their USPS claim. 1 Quote
Fishin' Fool Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Here's my thoughts on the NRX. I was expecting it to be way better than ANY fishing rod I had ever picked up. At first I wasn't blown away by it but the more I fish it the more subtleties I notice about it. It's that much lighter than rod A, it's that much more sensitive than rod B. It's more enjoyable to fish than rod C. Once you fish one of these rods and then fish less expensive rods it's easy to understand how people can end up with boat full of NRX'S. That's my take. 2 Quote

I picked up 2 brand new NRX'S for under $700. For the record I would have never paid the $575 the rod retails for. Not saying it's not worth that, that's just me I'm a bargain hunter. 1 Quote
