Greetings all! I'm about to order a pflueger president light power combo. This is offered in a 5"6 1 piece Rod and a 6"6 2 piece Rod. What are some of the benefits of each? I've never fished a two piece Rod so I'm looking for some insight. This combo will primarily be used to creek rock bass and panfish. Which option will serve me best?

Personally the panfish might be more fun on the 5'6" rod but the 6'6" 2 piece will be more useful. The fact that it is 2 piece will hardly make a difference to the rod. Several of my 7 foot spinning rods are 2 piece and are as sensitive as can be. I use them successfully for small floating crankbaits and real light jerbaits, drop shotting, weightless sencos and other "touchy feely "techniques

That clears the water up some. I was wondering if by having 2 pieces the sensitivity was effected.

Almost none. I am sure it does but unless you could fish both you will not be giving much up. Consider this one of my 2 piece spinning rods is a $300 G Loomis. I am sure if 2 pieces made a difference they would not make it.

I only use 5'6" ultralights for panfish. Makes it so much fun on 2 or 4 pound test line. Feels like you have a 6 pound bass on!

Yes the 6'6" should cast farther but it may require just a little bit more weight to do it. Of course that depends on the rod.  If it requires more weith I am talking maybe an 1/8 ounce more.
