"hamma" Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 nowadays? I watch a few of them but I like MLF for the info and their format is good. Charlie Moore gets the nod too, as I know Charlie, and when my tackle was stolen they got my brand new lowrance x85 lcr as well, and Charlie sent me one to replace the stolen one.(still using it til I get a new humminbird helix 10 for my ulterra) Back then I was ticked! and he restored my faith in mankind,.. I still can't thank him enough Back in the day I liked Bill Dance, Billy Westmoreland, Hank Parker and Bassmasters, Roland Martin etc: I watch as much as I can for info, always seeking more as this sport changes so much. Hence why I'm here actually,... and Thank You 1 Quote
Kyhokie Posted July 9, 2016 Posted July 9, 2016 Can't believe no one has mentioned honey hole all outdoors with host Bill Wilcox. Fantastic show on TV (it's a local Texas show), and have a ton of episodes on YouTube. It's my favorite, but I cut my teeth on bill dance and Hank Parker. 2 Quote

They're often filmed on Minnesota lakes and rivers, so the advice is more applicable to me than some of the shows filmed elsewhere, focusing on resevoir techniques, for example. They're based in Brainerd so they do a lot of fishing in MN and in Ontario, which is where I'm fishing 95% of the time too. 22 hours ago, Scott F said: John Gillespie's Waters and Woods. Johnsonville is a sponsor and they eat sausage during a commercial. Big deal. Yeah, he can get loud, but he produces a new show EVERY week. He films on Tuesday and Wednesday and the show is on the air on Saturday. He fishes many of the same waters I fish with guys I know. Nobody has a show that is as fresh because they were all done just a few days ago. Quote
frosty Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 Unfortunately we only have over the air tv, so no fishing shows for me. Back in the day it was Bill Dance and Babe Winkleman. Quote
Super User .ghoti. Posted July 10, 2016 Super User Posted July 10, 2016 I used to watch every one I could get. Now I wil watch Lunkerville if I happen to catch it. I have better things to do that watch somebody else try to catch fish. For me, it's a lot like watching golf or bowling. And I don't watch those either. Quote

Fisher-O-men Posted July 10, 2016 Posted July 10, 2016 The fishing show I enjoy the most is the one I see develop right before my eyes, while I am fishing! 1 Quote
basscrusher Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Right now, I don't watch much fishing TV at all, since FIOS dropped both WFN and Outdoor Channel (at least here in Northern VA). So now I only have access to Bassmasters on ESPN2 once a month, the handful of shows NBC Sports has (when not showing the Tour de France), and whatever is on this new Pursuit channel FIOS gave me as a consolation gift. They sent me a letter saying it had premium hunting and fishing, but in 2 weeks I have found exactly 2 fishing shows and about a thousand cookie-cutter, self-produced, repetitive hunting shows. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 The only one I really watch consistently is FLW, I have always loved watching tournaments, and like watching the whole season play out. I can never get my DVR to find most other things with any regularity. Quote
Super User Further North Posted July 12, 2016 Super User Posted July 12, 2016 I clicked "Other (please specify) because I do not watch TV, at all. We have a TV, and for the last 4 years or so we watch an occasional movie, and might stream a show if we've heard it very good. Without getting into the nuts and bolts of the thing, I got tired of biased news (from all perspectives) interjected in programs I wanted to see, endless advertising...and poor quality programming. That is, of course, my opinion only, and shouldn't be seen as a political comment - I don't like any of it, from any perspective. Most fishing shows aren't available (as far as I know) for streaming until well after their air dates...which makes them kinda useless for me. 1 Quote

"Get the Frabil!!" and "It's a Slobosaurus Rex!!" Does anyone watch Fishing with Johnny Johnson? It's a bass fishing show taped in Arizona. Quote

Super User OkobojiEagle Posted July 13, 2016 Super User Posted July 13, 2016 I haven't watched any fishing shows on TV for several years... if I had one to watch it would be Lindner's Anglers Edge. oe Quote
