Tamiami airport lakes, or one of those canals that runs to/from it. i learned by simply going out there with my gear and looking for them. I rarely fish with live bait and all my spots that i have found is by simply going with my gear and simply and fishing for them. Google maps is a good tool to help find new spots. I can say i have a consistent spot for peacock, another for largemouth, another for gar and one for bowfin and it all came from getting out there and fishing those openings. The hammocks lake in kendall are supposede to be good other then that, thight lines man.

They are all over the place these days.  Look for culvert pipes, water control structures, bridge pilings, docks, concrete walls and riprap.  You can find them as far north a the Palm Beaches.   Remember noon is one of the best times for these exotics, and the hotter the better.

I agree with those above about locations in the Miami area for peacock bass. They are all over the place and it looks like they are spreading north since their hasn't been a strong enough cold front to kill the exotics since the year 2010 or so.Another location you can try that is close to Miami is the canal behind Opa Locka  airport on Red Road and NW 142nd Street. Its the part of the canal that is "L" shaped. This canal has a good population of largemouth bass and it's loaded with peacock bass.Fish with live shiners here and your almost guaranteed a couple peacock bass, along with other exotic species. You also have a shot at hooking a tarpon or snook here,so it's another good location to try that is nearby.
