I cant seem to figure out what I am doing wrong.  I have downloaded a social map for a local lake that I fish, extracted it to a micro sd card and put it in my Gen3 but still no chart loads for the lake.  Anybody have any ideas?  It created a total of 5 files on the micro sd card once extracted.

Is your Gen3 the same MFD you registered with IG?

Are you at the lake in question or in your driveway?

Have you got your Chart Source set to Lowrance?

Thanks eddallen.  One of the things I was wondering about was the first question you asked.  By MFD are you talking about the content ID that you have to register for your unit?  If so I realized I needed to verify all of that stuff.  Yes I was at the lake in question and yes my chart source was set to lowrance.  I noticed one of the files on the micro SD card was a permits.txt file which looked like it may have something to do with content ID.  The other files were small vector, medium vector, large vector.at5 files and then an XML file.  I appreciate the help, I am going to check my registered information with gofree.

I attempted to just bypass this whole process by using the Gofree App on the unit itself but when I logged into it, it said that it was under maintenance and currently unavailable.

I checked on gofree and sure enough my serial number and content ID were wrong.  As soon as I changed this information, downloaded the map again and put the card in it immediately recognized it and I am up and running.

Thanks again for the help eddallen.

You must use the serial# and Content ID from inside the unit. Settings>System>About.

The serial# on the back of the unit is different than what is on the inside. Then pick a name for your plotter and register with GoFree.

Sorry I didn't get back to you right away but have been busy with installations lately. Glad you got it sorted out!
